March 27th, 2010: Visited Beat Within and met with David Inocencio. Talked about possibilities with The Beat Within, visiting a workshop, creating a long term relationship with Beat Within and planning an event at Lick-Wilmerding High School.
April 7th, 2010: Created blog (rethinkingjuvenilejusticesystem.blogspot.com) and posted mission statements and blog post on Beat Within visit. Also thought about where the event would take place in Lick-Wilmerding (cafeteria and/or theatre) and emailed necessary people for event planning
April 9th, 2010: Spoke with necessary individuals for planning event. These individuals include: Ravi, Mary Finn, and Eshoo. We decided to reserve the cafeteria because using the theatre for our event would be much more difficult. After talking with Ravi, our event began to be more geared towards adults, and therefore a person was designated to talk with the PA association about participation from parents.
April 13, 2010: Worked more on blog after class meeting and worked on budget.
April 15, 2010: We talked to English Department(Ms Von Breton) about publicizing the event and set a date for meeting with the entire English Department
April 19th, 2010: Talk to Eva Frank about budget meeting and finished blog. Talked to Mr. Clifford, Ms Hong and Mr K about our presentation being the event.
April 21, 2010: Will pick up publications and start on distributing through box in foyer. Also making announcement at assembly about the event to try to get more participation. Isabel and Jasmine will artistically work on poster above publication box.
April 26th, 2010: No seniors. Make sure everything for event (budget, participation) is planned and set.
April 28th, 2010: Talk more with Beat Within and meet with Eva Frank about budget.
April 30th, 2010: Finished food preparations with cafeteria, talked with english department once more about attendees.
May 4th, 2010: Meeting with Beat Within once more to finalize logistics about event.
May 6th, 2010: Event day during tutorial. Also meet with PA and make small presentation at 7.
